Orycon 37 in downtown portland was a blast. I went to several readings from authors I hadn’t previously heard of before – which I always enjoy doing. I get more familiar with the works of other authors in the area, get to hear stories I wouldn’t necessarily pick out for myself, and get to hear some of the tales behind the stories themselves.
On Saturday I got to meet Barb and J.C. Hendee, who are the authors of the Noble Dead Series. They signed my hardback copy of ‘Of Truth and Beasts.’
There were a lot of amazing costumes this year, as always. On Sunday I met this pair of Mermaids in front of registration. So many cool costumes!
Saturday night was the release party for the ASYLUM anthology. I worked the door and mingled with guests till the early hours of the morning.
The dealer’s room was a bit slow, especially compared to last year, but everyone kept their spirits up. Despite the lack of crowds, we managed to sell out of copies of ASYLUM!
I’ll see everyone at my next con, which is RADCON on President’s Day weekend 2016 in the Tri-cities WA!
